Suzie Irwin defended Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson veterinarian Maggie Jones and her boss, hospital manager Cody Alcott, in two related complaints.
A dog that ate a lot of grass came in with a breathing problem; the dog's human suggested that the dog had grass up the nose. Jones did workups at the facility but failed to identify any grass in the nose, instead offering a variety of other diagnostics. The dog got worse and was subsequently taken to two other veterinary clinics, the second of which allegedly found grass up in the nose.
Alcott, the top veteriarian at Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson, was also named in the complaint regarding the facility's overall practices and subsequent evasive handling of the matter. He performed an internal investigation and found that his hospital acted with integrity.
Suzie Irwin defended veterinarians in about 0.3% of cases in our Tails of Woe.
